Missouri College helps expand dental community to India
Missouri College's focus on community service in the areas of dental education and dental services is now receiving exposure globally. Missouri College and the University of Manitoba, Canada were part of a North American Contingency that traveled to Bangalore, India to participate in "The Indian Dentist Research and Review’s Dentistry 2010," an exhibition and continuing educational forum. Dr. Hubert Benitez, DDS, MOCO’s Program Director of Dental Hygiene and Mr. Jerry Piper, CDA, EFDA, a Missouri College faculty member both presented at the conference. Their topics included the "Dental Assistants’ Role in Expanded Functions," as well as, "Access to Dentistry for the Underserved."
Susan Haubrich RMA-AHI, Missouri College Instructor receives AMT’s 2009 Distinguished Achievement in Medical Assisting
Susan Haubrich RMA-AHI, Medical Assisting Instructor at Missouri College, was awarded the 2009 Distinguished Achievement in Medical Assisting from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) president. Susan attended the AMT’s National Convention, held in Las Vegas, Nevada at The J.W. Marriott. Susan has put forth tremendous effort in supporting the Missouri AMT Chapter in both community and government-related activities. Congratulations Susan on such a deserving honor!
MISSOURI COLLEGE TAX DAY MASSAGES
On April 15, 2010 – Tax Day – At Kiener Plaza, Missouri College massage therapy students and faculty gave out free 20 minute chair massages to people in order to relieve the stress from tax day.

NEW DENTAL HYGIENE CLINIC OPENS
On November 23, 2009, Missouri College opened a new dental hygiene clinic that offers its services at no charge. Dental hygiene students, supervised by dentists on staff, will provide patients with a range of dental services including X-rays, gum treatments, teeth cleaning and fluoride treatments for adults and children. Patients whom the hygienist and dentist identify as needing additional dental services such as fillings or crowns will be referred to area dentists. The Dental Hygiene Education program at Missouri College was launched in March, 2009. The new program is separate from a Dental Assistant degree program which the College has operated for more than 30 years.
