Medical Assistant
According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for medical assistants is projected to grow much faster than average, ranking medical assistants among the fastest growing occupations over the 2008–18 decade. These professionals are responsible for assisting medical providers by performing administrative duties and basic clinical duties in offices of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors and other health practitioners.
At Missouri College, you can pursue a medical assistant diploma that is programmatically accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). Therefore, graduates of the program are eligible to take the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) examinations offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Graduates are able to take the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) examination offered by American Medical Technologists (AMT). These credentials are nationally recognized voluntary certifications that could enhance employment opportunities.**
